Steel Fighters progression is a loop, not a straight staircase. Build a robot, test it in the Arena, gather Cash and Scrap, improve the same fighter, and return to the wall that stopped you. Rebirth sits above that loop: it trades some temporary progress for a longer-term benefit shown by the current Rebirth panel.

This hub gives each decision its own page. Rebirth explains how to read the reset before confirming. Cash and Scrap separates the two economies and their sources. Upgrades shows how to turn a resource into a measurable Arena result instead of spreading spending across every available button.

Plan upgrade spending

The progression loop

Start with a complete robot assembled from the parts you currently own. Run enough Arena floors to learn the first meaningful failure: not enough damage, not enough survival, a recovery delay, or a build that is inconsistent against the same opponent. “Stuck” is useful only when you can say what happened.

If power is the problem, visit the Junkyard and other current reward sources, then direct Scrap or the currency named by the upgrade button into the main fighter. If the problem is the available part set, use the lever or another documented source with a spending limit. If a title can support the exact task, equip it before the farming session.

Return to the same Arena test. Keep the robot, title, and server conditions stable except for the improvement you want to measure. A clear that becomes reliable is stronger evidence than a single higher number on a menu. Record the result so the next choice begins from an established baseline.

Separate Cash from Scrap

The official description advertises a +50% Cash friend bonus and calls the Junkyard a place to find Scrap and use it for upgrades. That gives the currencies different jobs even before every current cost is known. Read the live action button, because lever pulls, robot building, upgrades, event machines, or later worlds can use different resources after updates.

Cash should be evaluated by the next purchase it unlocks. Scrap should be evaluated by the next power improvement or requirement it funds. A large Cash balance does not solve a Scrap-gated upgrade, and emptying Scrap into unused robots does not make the main Arena fighter stronger.

The Cash and Scrap guide offers a route for each shortage, including the friend bonus and Junkyard delivery loop. It avoids publishing an exact “per minute” farm because server state, account upgrades, Titles, and patches can change the result.

Upgrade with a target

Before spending, name the robot and the floor, boss, or task it needs to improve. Capture the before state. Buy one layer of improvement, then repeat the same test. If the build still fails in the same way, another stat or a part change may be more useful than repeating the purchase.

Current community guides report several strength layers beyond ordinary robot upgrades, including a matching-part benefit, Index tier rewards, Stars, and Overworld upgrades. Update 1 officially confirms an Upgrades feature and an Index, but exact effects need the live UI. Treat every layer as separate until the game shows how they combine.

The Upgrades Guide includes a responsive decision index rather than a fixed cost table. Unknown values stay unknown, and every update-sensitive entry carries a check date.

Rebirth only with a recovery plan

The official listing confirms Rebirth but does not publish the complete reset. Recent community captures report that early Rebirths can change multipliers and a level cap while resetting Cash and Scrap and keeping robots, but those fields must be read on the current confirmation panel.

Before confirming, copy the exact You lose and You keep lists. Check the next benefit, current balances, active robot state, title progress, Index state, mode access, and the first resource source you will use after the reset. If the panel is ambiguous, cancel and test on a noncritical account only if appropriate.

After Rebirth, rebuild in a known order: claim any persistent benefit, equip an appropriate Title, use the saved robot if retained, restore the first upgrade route, and return to the same benchmark. A faster recovery is the reason to Rebirth; a larger displayed count alone is not.

Avoid progression traps

Do not spend every resource because a new control has a notification dot. Do not upgrade five robots equally before one has proved useful. Do not Rebirth because another account did it at a certain level; its permanent boosts, Titles, pass state, and retained collection may be different.

Do not rank a farming route without including setup and return travel. Junkyard delivery capacity, Walk Speed, friends, Titles, server events, and later areas can change total efficiency. The best route is the one your account can repeat and convert into the next required improvement.

Milestones that support the loop

Community-corroborated title requirements provide useful checkpoints: level 10, 100 and 1,000 junk deliveries, 60 robot builds, 500 upgrades, 100 bosses, floor milestones at 100, 200, and 300, and Rebirth counts at three and seven. These are not a mandatory campaign order, but they help you combine ordinary progress with lasting unlocks.

Use Title Progression to choose overlapping targets, Arena to benchmark power, and Robots to keep the build record attached to the correct parts.

Evidence boundary

Official Roblox surfaces establish the game identity, core loop, Junkyard Scrap, upgrades, Rebirth, friend Cash bonus, and Update 1 feature names. Public official data does not establish the complete reset table, cost curves, drop rates, or strongest route. Those fields are marked community-reported or require current in-game testing.

This structure remains useful after a balance change: identify the bottleneck, choose the matching resource or system, change one thing, and repeat the same test. Exact numbers can update without changing the decision process.
